Lincoln Carolers Spread Joy to Seniors around ISD 728

A cooperative effort between Lincoln Elementary parents, staff and students and the Guardian Angels Senior Living and Care Services led to a memorable day for both students and seniors around our ISD 728 communities.

Teachers Jeremy Peterson, Kristen Schrader and Michelle Stenzel let their students carry out this year's Lincoln Elementary service project prior to Winter Break - with a holiday twist. Grade 5 students selected a caroling outing, complete with gifts for the seniors they would visit at the GA facilities in both Elk River and Otsego.

On Thursday, Dec. 18, students visited three buildings, bringing cards and conversation, along with holiday carols. They spent time visiting with residents as well.

The Lincoln Elementary Parent Advisory Council helped provide busing for the students, who showed up early on Thursday to help make the cards and decorations.

Former Lincoln music teacher Val Williams, current music teacher Tracy Wojcik and LES student council advisor Deserae Pikula, who also teaches Grade 3, served as staff leaders for the project.

Thanks to all for making it a memorable event!
